Stability starts with a solid foundation.

Brandi’s Story

Growing up in a trailer, I used to admire the big homes with beautiful Christmas trees glowing in the front windows. I always dreamed that one day I’d have a home where I could put up a tree like that too…

Our Mission

Idaho Panhandle Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

What We do

We are dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.

Everyone deserves a home.

Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all. Our volunteers and partner families provide most of the labor to build the homes with individuals, faith groups, and corporate donors providing money and materials for the homes.

Partner families invest hundreds of "sweat equity" hours in building their own home and the homes of others. Their no-interest mortgage payments help us buy the materials for future homes.

Together, they build safe, decent, and affordable homes for those in need. Their work helps address the growing demand for workforce housing in Sandpoint while supporting long-term community growth.
Idaho Panhandle Habitat for Humanity creates affordable homeownership opportunities for low- to moderate-income families in the Idaho Panhandle region. Many of these families would otherwise be priced out of the competitive Sandpoint housing market.
